We each bring something different to the table from our unique experiences, and that balance is what allows us to show up fully for the clients and community we serve.
John: I’ve learned that life really does lead you exactly where you’re meant to be. At 18, my mom asked me to help out at her small real estate office. She needed someone she could trust, and when your mom asks, you step up. I didn’t plan to get into real estate, but I embraced it.
In February of 1989, I got my real estate license. I was 19 and ready to work—until I realized that most people weren’t ready to hire someone barely out of high school to handle the biggest financial decision of their lives.
That’s how I ended up in property management, helping run my mom’s business. It taught me everything from understanding contracts and working with investors to de-escalating high-stress situations. I got my broker’s license in 1993, ran our family business after my mom retired, and we closed the office in 1999. I then went to work for another small office that was bought by Coldwell Banker. I became the branch manager in 2004 and stayed in leadership until 2017.
Today my focus is entirely on serving clients. Turns out, I had the right idea when I got licensed at 19—I just needed time to grow into the role. Being hands-on and helping people buy their first home, build their dream house, or take the next step in life is the most rewarding part of the job.
Stephanie and I made our partnership official in 2021. Her husband Glenn has been my best friend since the early 80’s, so working together has been great. We bring different strengths and experiences, and with two REALTORS® backing every deal, we give our clients more support, more solutions, and fewer surprises.
My wife and I have two daughters: Brooke, who's preparing for PA school, and Heather, a dental assistant studying to become a dental hygienist. I’m also a board member for Patriot Pines Outdoors, a 501-C19 charity, which lets me do the things I love—hunting, off-roading, and outdoor trips, all while helping our Veterans experience them too.

Stephanie: I’ve learned too, that life has a way of leading you exactly where you’re meant to be. I’ve been in real estate since 2004, after agreeing to take real estate classes just to keep my friend company. Once I started learning, I fell in love with it! It made me realize how much better our first homebuying experience could have been—we were given no real choices, no transparency. I was motivated to be the kind of agent who makes sure people feel informed, prepared, and empowered. Over the years, I’ve worked through every kind of market, including investor-heavy stretches where speed and volume were the focus.
When I returned to real estate full-time, I was ready to shift my focus to helping more people: families, first-time buyers, and sellers moving on from homes filled with memories. After everything we had been through, I wanted fulfilling work that brought me joy and purpose. John and I share the same goals and find fulfillment in truly serving our clients.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy traveling and visiting our daughter Shelby in Texas, who is a Michelin Star pastry chef. I'm an animal lover, so I enjoy spending time with my six rescue dogs at home. Several years ago, I helped launch “The Play hard Project” to support kids in accessing mainstream sports. Currently, we have focused on supporting the causes near to our hearts, including animal rescues and events and organizations related to cancer.
In real estate, we take a hands-on, full-service approach from the very beginning through closing and beyond. When you choose to work with us, you actually get us. We don’t hand you off or disappear after the contract is signed. We stay directly involved in every step, working with you to create a great experience. We make sure every part of the process is handled with care. We like to be a resource for our clients.
Our combined experience spans land sales, multifamily properties, estates, transitional moves, and traditional residential transactions. We’re also proud to serve Meridian Manor, one of the East Valley’s most active 55+ communities, where we consistently support residents through buying, selling, and transitioning within the neighborhood. We pride ourselves on making the process feel easy because we handle all the logistics and details behind the scenes, so you don’t have to worry. With over five decades of experience between us, there’s very little we haven’t seen!
But most importantly, we genuinely care about the people we work with. We show up. We answer our phones. We pay attention to what matters to you. Because we know this isn’t just a transaction, it’s your home, your future, and often a major life change. We take our responsibility seriously and strive to always be better than we were the day before!
Sincerely,
John Gordon Stephanie Mitchell
