Gilbert is a fast-growing community located just outside of Phoenix, Arizona. The community was once known as the “hay shipping capital of the world” and has evolved into one of the largest towns in Arizona covering more than 72-square-miles. Gilbert is located 24 miles southeast of Phoenix and is close to neighboring towns like Mesa and Tempe. While it was once a thriving agricultural community, Gilbert is now known as an economically diverse community. When William Gilbert provided land to the Arizona Eastern Railway in 1902, a railway was built between Phoenix and Florence, Arizona. Gilbert was incorporated in 1920 and has developed a population nearly 45 times its original population.

Gilbert’s booming housing industry is directly related to its thriving businesses which are focused on science, technology, engineering, and math industries. Gilbert is home to many companies working in advanced manufacturing, biotech, aerospace, and clean technology.
